Congratulations First New York FCU on your new blog!
First New York FCU launched their blog recently and I would like to give you an opinion - since I have so many. 
First the not so great stuff. FNYFCU is using a standard template. It isnt really branded well to the credit union. I made the same mistake and launched with a standard wordpress template and I think it took me a week to flip it over to something a little more custom. It will also give you the ability to use some really neat widgets and plugins that are available that might not work with the template you selected. It would also be good to get your own custom URL so your blog site would be branded to your credit union as well.
Now, for the good - your content is good. Everything I saw was useful without being too “Salesy”. Every post had useful and important information and felt like a conversation with a knowledgeable friend. It really seems like someone has been reading up on what makes a good credit union blog. You guys have got the ball rolling in the right direction. To Walter and all the folks at FNYFCU - Good job and keep up the good work!

Well as far as blogging (on any topic) goes - content is king.
And your content is good! The other suggestions I made are quick and easy and can all be done in less than an hour. Congrats on getting into the pool and splashing around.
Start marketing the blog, scrape the current articles for your CU website home page and keep interacting with your members and you should be good. Again, good job Walt!
